Shadowclad™ Plywood Cladding
Shadowclad™ plywood panels provide a beautiful, natural wood exterior cladding that is well suited to most architectural style; adding street appeal to any project whether used alone or accented with other building materials.
Manufactured from sustainably grown NZ plantation pine, Shadowclad can be used as both a strong, yet lightweight exterior cladding or as an internal lining, and has been trusted in New Zealand construction for over 25 years.

Available H3.1 LOSP and now H3.2 CCA treated for exterior cladding or untreated for internal dry linings, Shadowclad is available in two sheet profiles – texture and texture groove and two surface finishes – Shadowclad Natural and Prime.
Shadowclad Natural
Natural finish is an uncoated panel suitable for coating with high quality penetrating stains and paints.
Shadowclad Prime
Prime features a specially formulated factory set powder coat exterior grade primer applied to the sheet surface forming, a durable and moisture resistant surface suitable, for top coating with most paints and film forming stains.
The powder coat process seals the sheet surface and edges offering the following benefits:
- High film build of up to 70 microns, which can be up to 2-3 times the thickness of traditional wet primers.
- Continuous powder coated sheet surface providing a moisture barrier for a drier, more consistent surface to apply topcoats.
- Saves time and money as traditional on site wet primers are not normally required.
- Can be exposed to exterior weather for up to 3 months prior to top coating.
